Okay folks, I've played nice because that's who I am.

I went to Sailnet, and saw that after Smackdaddy was banned from here he posted on SailNet about how that didn't exactly thrill him (and didn't surprise him either) because he apparently pushed a few buttons.
Now me and Smacky go back a ways, and not in a good way as mostly we are at odds, he likes to make conversations lively is the polite way to say it.

But then Smackdaddy got his his 'banned until' date was changed because either Sully or cruiseadmin objected to his post on Sailnet.

That crosses a line in my book. I'm out. It's been nice. It truly is your loss as so far it's a nice idea, and a truly empty site.

Have fun in your little lonely, empty sandbox.
Sully, let us know when you grow up finally and get that little "plays well with others" check box on your report card.

People who were recently banned have all been banned for about 3 mos. If I recall, I mistakenly set Smackdaddy's to 1 week then re-adjusted it.

See what we mean when we say you guys are quick to incite problems? We just took you in here, treated you with respect and there you go trashing the place, all within a couple hours of joining.

Would you like to retract your assumption, or would you like to leave?

No, because, as you said 'recently banned' are getting the three month treatment whereas normally it's one week. I make the 'assumption that has the meaning specifically the SN folks who have irritated you by asking questions. I've seen four bannings in less than two hours, not one of which is a violation of the rules we all agree to when we log in.

Your regulars here can decide for themselves (unless I get deleted) if it's normal to ban for a week, but okay to ban folks for saying 'I guess we can't ask for a poll' for three months because it irritates the owner, especially if they are from sail net.

As I said, your loss. Forums get their omph from the people and having reviewed the postings here it's a nice little place that lacks only in content and management. They also make their revenue based on throughput and use. Like it or not more content has been put on this board in the last month by SN folks than before, you've killed the goose that laid the egg.

PS: Thanks for the tips on making revenue. We aren't making any. I'm paying for the board from my personal funds, but thanks anyway.

Reminds me of when we had Christmas Tree Forts. In the days after Christmas we would collect all the trees that were thrown out. We would stack em up and make forts out of them. We would declare war on the guys a couple of streets over and spy on them.

The kids who lived between the two forts would run back and forth from one fort to the other starting crap. "Im quiting and going to the other fort!"; and then he would run to the other side and tell them all kinds of stuff just to get in good graces with them and to establish credibility. "I was really on your side the whole time, their fort aint nearly as neat as yalls" and then another kid would run back to our fort and tell us that little Johnny said my fort smelled like moth balls.

Just another matter of childish posturing in order to fit in. Drama queens.

Sully, you may have pulled the trigger a bit sooner than some think was suitable on smack "what's his name ", although I can certainly understand why you felt you had to. Would it be possible to shorten the length of the 3 banned posters to a couple of weeks?

I think the reason he's taking a stand with those "guys" is because we're all friends. Some of us have meet in person, and have talked on the phone with others. I have no doubt that I could call Chuck to say I'll be at the airport at this time and either He or his wife, or both would meet me there and give me a ride to his house where a guest room would be waiting. Chuck, Xort, and I did serious damage to several bottles of Goslings just a few weekends ago, while talking about sailing, music, medical issues, and whatever else came to mind, as conversations are likely to happen between friends.

We're!!!!! Just, Who might that be. You may own the site and make the rules and apply them as you see fit, but you don't speak for me. I hope they do came back as the site would be richer for it.
