My book "Origami Metal Boatbuilding" is a manual on origami Metal boatbuilding , one if the most advanced methods of metal boatbuilding yet devised. It is a method that has let me pull together 36 foot sailing hulls in three days, from the time the steel arrives, and to tack together 36 ft steel hull, decks, cabin cockpit wheelhouse, keels, rudder and skeg in under a week. The resulting hulls are totally fair ,without any fillers of any kind and are almost indistinguishable from round bilged hulls in the water. There have been roughly 200 built, and have done everything from several circumnavigations to a single season passage thru the NW Passage . They have survived everything from 16 days pounding in 8 ft surf on the west cast of Baja, to pounding 300 meters across a Fijian coral reef in big surf, to a collision with a freighter in Gibralter, all with minimal damage. They are some of the most well proven boats out there .
